Challenges that trigger learning / Mildred Vanessa López and Andrea Trujillo



In this episode, we join Mildred Vanessa López, Associate Academic Dean of the School of Medicine; and Andrea Trujillo Department Director at the Business School; through a talk in which they share with us their experience in the design of learning activities based on challenges.

Challenge - Based Learning is a pedagogical approach that actively involves the student in a real problematic situation, relevant and linked with the environment, which implies the definition of a challenge and the implementation of a solution for it.

Guest Professor 

 

Mildred Vanessa López

Associate Academic Dean of the School of Medicine. She is a Level 1 Researcher in the National System of Researchers in Mexico. She has 10 years of experience in the design of innovation projects and educational research.

PhD in Educational Innovation, she has a master’s degree in Quality and Productivity Systems, and a fellow in Medical Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her first degree is Mechatronic Engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, and she is currently studying a second career, Psychology.

She participates as an undergraduate teacher in the Tec 21 model and as a teacher in professional and scientific postgraduate programs. She has more than 80 published research articles (43 SCOPUS), more than 100 papers presented in congresses and 3 health learning books.

 

María Andrea Trujillo

Regional Director of the Marketing Department. PhD in Administration with a speciality in Marketing and  professor - researcher from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Passionate about this area of work, she has been able to combine the theoretical foundations provided by her professional studies with the practice acquired as a manager and consultant.

In 30 years of professional life, Andrea has experienced marketing from different perspectives: as a researcher, she has published academic articles and books on service quality and green marketing. As a teacher she has trained several generations of professionals, obtaining awards and recognition for her teaching work, and as a practitioner, she has developed projects for organizations such as Sanborns, Comex, Kohler, Ale Association, FUNDECO, Potzollcalli, Interceramic, among others. Also, she is a founding member of Nova Vida, she coordinated the Motivos para amar a México book collection, she has been a fellow of Victoria 147 and a mentor at the Tec de Monterrey Campus Santa Fe incubator.
