An atmosphere of trust, respect, and clear communication between teacher and student boosts learning, safety, and overall well-being for everyone. It encourages active participation, empathy, and tolerance—fostering better classroom harmony and the holistic development of students. As faculty, students should be treated “as you would like to be treated yourself,” being mindful of how you manage your own emotions and the attitudes you display toward others. In doing so, you model for students how to develop these behaviors. Special emphasis should be placed on highlighting positive aspects over negative ones, and on recognizing achievements before pointing out shortcomings. Respect as a fundamental value implies recognizing and valuing the dignity of each person, which is essential for personal and social development. Faculty Mentorship
